Sunday School

SS Group photo.jpg

These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

– Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Sunday School is an integral part of the All Saints CSI Parish. It started off as an extension to CSI Dubai Parish’s Sunday School in the year 2012 under the leadership of Rev. Jiji John Jacob. Over the years, Sunday School children are taught and moulded by our dedicated team of teachers led by the Head Teacher and Joint Head Teacher. Children at the Sunday School grow in the knowledge of God with the help of committed teachers who take a keen interest in teaching and instructing children in the Word of God.

Sunday School at present is conducted by a group of dedicated teachers under the leadership of Mr. Victor Chacko every Sunday from 8 am to 9 am, at the Holy Trinity Church, Hall@5, Jebel Ali. Children of various age groups beginning from 3 years upwards to 16 years attend the Sunday School classes. Teachers faithfully minister the Word of God to these young minds and aim at imparting spiritual and moral values through the Scriptures. Sunday School serves as a platform for children to congregate together and get closer to God.

Vision and Mission
To enable the children, grow closer to God, to gain knowledge from the Bible and translate these
noble ideals for the betterment of society, following Jesus example and adhering to the Kingdom
principles.

The purpose of the Sunday School:

1. To help children to know Jesus Christ and have a close walk with the Lord.
2. The principles and philosophies stated in the Bible are imparted to the students through songs, stories and activities such that they imbibe faith in God and live their lives following the examples of great men and women of faith as depicted in the Bible. Through praise and worship, prayer, and Bible study sessions, children are taught to communicate with the Almighty God. Learning the Bible and memorizing the verses seek to direct their minds to follow the right path in life.
3. The Sunday School seeks to make the Lord Jesus personal and real to the children through prayer and faith, making them familiar with His Word, good works, signs and miracles, and teaching them to adopt the Kingdom principles that Christ adhered to. It thus aspires towards the spiritual growth and transformation of the children to be good disciples.

4. They equip and encourage children for mission work through illustrations of the lives of great missionaries in India and abroad, and inspire them to grow up to be worthy disciples in their adult lives, to be the future pillars of this holy house of worship.

Activities
1. Gather every Sunday for praise and worship, prayers, lessons and activities for various age categories.
2. Winter Camp: An annual collective exercise involving the presbyter, teachers, parents and volunteers seeking to cover an intensive module of scripture lessons and activities catering to our students as well as others, at the end of which certificates are awarded. The camp is normally led by leaders in the children's ministry
and takes place in December.
3. SS Week Worship: Children take part in the different parts of the worship, assist the vicar in the order of service and share the work of God. The service usually falls in November as per the church calendar.
4. SS Anniversary: The academic year closes with an anniversary celebration. Skits interspersed with songs and dances enable every child to perform and display his/her talent. Children are awarded prizes for attendance, memory verse recitation and for annual assessments. The anniversary will be held in June 2024
5. Harvest Festival: A noble initiative wherein children, with the support of parents, put up stalls to exhibit their handmade articles, games, delicacies etc. for sale to finance the Church’s outreach activities.
6. SS students support and take part in the church service every week by reading the
responsive reading of Psalm.
